What is Fascia Stretch Therapy?

Each Session is customized to your unique needs!

Fascia Stretch Therapy (FST) is a dynamic, assisted stretching method designed to target the fascia, the connective tissue that surrounds your muscles, bones, joints, nerves, and organs. Unlike traditional stretching, which focuses mainly on muscles, FST works through the entire neuromyofascial system, addressing restrictions within the joints and connective tissue to restore balance and improve posture, mobility, and overall body alignment.

During an FST session, a certified practitioner gently guides you through pain-free stretches using a combination of traction, compression, and rhythmic movement coordinated with your breath.

Frequently asked questions

Who can benefit from receiving FST?

FST is suitable for people of all ages, lifestyles, and body types. It’s ideal for those with chronic or complex pain seeking relief, anyone looking to restore mobility after injury, surgery, or joint replacement, and people on the hypermobility spectrum (HSD), including Ehlers-Danlos (hEDS). It also benefits individuals who sit frequently, office workers, commuters, or those living a sedentary lifestyle, seniors or anyone who struggles to stay active independently, athletes at any level, and anyone cleared by their physician for stretching and physical activity.

How is FST different from self-stretching?

FST goes beyond traditional stretching by targeting the entire neuromyofascial system which is the muscles, joints, bones, nerves, and even organs. Using gentle traction and compression, it separates tight tissues and stabilizes overly mobile ones, helping rebalance the body for better movement and reduced strain on the joints.

How long/how frequent of sessions do I need?

FST Session Frequency & Length

The ideal frequency and length of FST sessions depend on your goals, pain, and mobility routine. For acute pain or injury, sessions 1–2 times per week (60–90 minutes) are recommended for the fastest results. Once goals are met, periodic maintenance is suggested, tailored with your FST provider.

Guidelines by Need:

  • Active Healing: Longer sessions (60–90 min), 1–2x/week for acute injuries or long-term problems.
  • Maintenance: Minor issues? 60–90 min, 1–2x/month keeps your body balanced.
  • Long-Term Management: Chronic or structural issues require a personalized plan with your FST provider.
  • Athletic/Sports Prep: Quick 45-min sessions prime the body for activity; longer 60–90 min sessions correct imbalances and improve performance.
Does FST hurt?

FST is completely pain-free and opposite the “no pain, no gain” approach. Sessions focus on safe, guided stretches that release tension while protecting joints. With active communication between practitioner and client, your nervous system can relax, leaving you feeling deeply relaxed with more comfort, flexibility, and ease in your muscles and joints.

How do athletes benefit from FST?

FST helps athletes prevent injuries, correct postural and movement imbalances, and improve muscle function. It also boosts circulation, reduces inflammation, and speeds recovery, keeping you performing at your best.

How many sessions will I need?

Most clients notice improved mobility and reduced pain within the first few sessions, though some conditions may require ongoing treatment for full healing.

What should I wear to an FST session?

Please wear loose or stretchy clothing, similar to what you would wear for a workout or yoga class such as shorts, sweatpants, leggings, loose T-shirt, etc.

PLEASE NO JEANS.

The session is performed fully clothed so no need to undress.

Will I get a reminder about my session?

Yes you will receive a reminder about your appointment 24-48 hours prior to your appointment.
